The Blight Ganons

Each Divine Beast ends with a Blight Ganon. Beat it for a Heart Container and your Champion's ability.

Inside the beast

How every Divine Beast works

Activate the terminals

Each beast has terminals to activate before you can reach the main control unit. Your map marks them once you find the beast's map.

Find the map first

Grab the beast's map from its guidance terminal so you can see every terminal and how the beast moves.

Move the beast itself

Each Divine Beast lets you tilt, rotate or move part of its body from the map. Most puzzles depend on it.

Bring arrows

Every Blight Ganon has phases where a bow is your best weapon, especially Windblight.

Upgrade your hearts first

Shrines before beasts: a few extra hearts make the Blight fights far more forgiving.

Use the Champion ability

Once you free a beast, its Champion's power stays with you and makes the next beasts easier.

Divine Beast questions

What order should I do the Divine Beasts in?

Any order works. Vah Ruta is a good start because it is close to Kakariko and Hateno, and Vah Naboris is usually the hardest.

No. You can go to Hyrule Castle at any time, but each freed beast weakens Calamity Ganon and gives you a Heart Container and a Champion ability.

The beast turns toward Hyrule Castle and helps you in the final fight by blasting Calamity Ganon with a laser.

Usually one to two hours each, including the quest that gets you on board. The beasts themselves are shorter than most dungeons in earlier Zelda games.

Most players find Vah Naboris the trickiest puzzle and Thunderblight Ganon the toughest Blight, thanks to its speed and lightning attacks.
