Overworld

Field bosses worth hunting

These bosses roam Hyrule, the sky and the Depths. They are optional, but they drop some of the best fuse materials in the game.

Gleeoks

Multi-headed dragons that fly over Hyrule. Shoot each head in the eye to bring the body down, then attack.

Lynels

The toughest regular enemies in the game. Stun one with a headshot, then mount it for free hits.

Hinox

Sleeping cyclops giants. Shoot the eye to knock it down and hit it while it recovers.

Stone Talus

Living rock formations. Climb onto them and smash the ore weak point on top.

Frox

Huge Depths creatures with ore on their backs. Climb up and break the ore to deal heavy damage.

Flux Constructs

Constructs built from moving cubes. Find the glowing core cube and attack it.

Before the fight

How to beat any TotK boss

Fuse your weapons

Fusing a strong monster part to a sword or arrow multiplies its damage. Save your best materials for bosses.

Master the perfect dodge

Jump sideways or backflip right before an attack lands to trigger Flurry Rush for a burst of free hits.

Use your sage

Every temple boss is built around the temple's sage ability. Activate it as soon as the fight starts.

Cook before you go

Hearty meals refill and add extra hearts, and attack-up meals shorten long fights.

Upgrade your armor

Great Fairies upgrade armor sets for more defense. A few upgrades make bosses far less punishing.

Bring arrows

Almost every boss has a weak point you can hit with a bow. Carry a stack of arrows and some eyeballs to fuse.

Who is the final boss in Tears of the Kingdom?

Demon King Ganondorf, fought beneath Hyrule Castle at the end of the main quest. See our Demon King Ganondorf guide.

Any order works. We recommend Colgera, Mucktorok, Marbled Gohma, Queen Gibdo and then the Seized Construct, following our temple order.

Red hands that rise out of pools of Gloom around Hyrule and grab Link. Defeating them summons Phantom Ganon, so be ready for a second fight.

No, but each temple boss gives a Heart Container and unlocks a sage who fights with you in the final battle, so it is strongly recommended.

A strong weapon fused with a high-damage monster part, such as a Lynel or Gleeok horn. Fused arrows are just as important for weak points.
