Fuse in four steps

You learn Fuse in the In-isa Shrine on the Great Sky Island. Our Fuse guide covers every trick in detail.

1Step 1Pick a base weaponMost weapons you find are decayed and weak on their own. Their job is to carry a strong material.Base
2Step 2Fuse a materialHold a material next to the weapon and use Fuse. Monster horns and claws add the most attack power.Fuse
3Step 3Fuse your shield and arrowsShields take rockets, springs and emitters. Arrows take eyeballs, fruit and gems for homing and elemental shots.Utility
4Step 4Replace before it breaksFused weapons still break. Keep a few spare base weapons and a stock of good materials.Durability

How to get the Master Sword

The Master Sword is the one weapon that never breaks for good: when it runs low it recharges instead.

Follow the Dragon's Tears

The Geoglyphs quest tells the story of the sword and leads you to it.

Find the Light Dragon

The sword is lodged in the head of the Light Dragon, which circles high above Hyrule.

Land on its head

Get above the dragon, glide down onto its back and make your way to the head.

Pull the sword

Reach the sword on the dragon's head and pull it free. You need two full stamina wheels for the pull; hearts don't matter this time.

Fuse to it

The Master Sword can be fused like any weapon, which makes it even stronger.

Let it recharge

When it runs out of energy it needs a few minutes to recharge before you can swing it again.

Weapon tips

Never fight with a bare weapon

A decayed sword with a good horn beats most clean weapons you find.

Farm horns from camps

Monster camps refill on Blood Moons, so the same camp can supply horns again and again.

Fuse your shield too

A rocket on a shield launches you into the air for a bow shot or a quick escape.

Throw what's about to break

A weapon on its last hit still deals full damage when thrown.

Upgrade your pouches

Hestu expands your weapon, bow and shield slots in exchange for Korok Seeds.

Save gems for fusing

Rubies, sapphires and topaz add elemental damage, so don't sell them all.

Tears of the Kingdom weapon questions

Why are my weapons so weak in Tears of the Kingdom?

Most weapons on the surface are decayed. They are meant to be fused with materials like monster horns, which add most of the attack power.

Silver Lynel horns and Gleeok horns are among the strongest. Captain Construct horns are easier to farm and still very strong.

Yes. The Master Sword can be fused like any other weapon, and fusing a strong material makes it one of the best weapons in the game.

Find Hestu and give him Korok Seeds to expand your pouches. See our Korok Seed locations.

Yes. Each fused arrow uses one material, so stock up on eyeballs, fruit and bomb flowers before big fights.
