Most shrines make you earn the reward after you walk through the door. Jinodok makes you earn the door. The shrine stays sealed until you solve a crystal puzzle on the islands around it, and getting to those islands is half the job.
The good news: once you arrive, the puzzle is one switch, one crystal and one short carry. Inside, there is nothing but a chest and a free Light of Blessing. Let me break this down for you.
Jinodok Shrine at a Glance
| Detail | Answer |
|---|---|
| Region | Central Hyrule Sky, South Hyrule Sky Archipelago |
| Nearest launch point | Hyrule Field Skyview Tower |
| Trial | Rauru’s Blessing (no puzzle inside) |
| Shrine quest | The South Hyrule Sky Crystal |
| Ability needed | Ultrahand |
| Inside the shrine | One chest (Diamond) and the Light of Blessing |
Lore Drop: Rauru’s Blessing shrines are named for the first king of Hyrule, the Zonai who sealed Ganondorf. They are not tests of skill inside; the test is getting there. The devs buried the real puzzle in the sky outside, because of course they did.
How to Reach Jinodok Shrine
Start at the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower. The launch puts you high above Central Hyrule, close to the South Hyrule Sky Archipelago. From there you have two options.
The Island Hopping Route
- Land on the tower island. Glide south to the island with a water pool. A large floating platform sits on one side, with Rockets nearby.
- Rocket across. Attach a Rocket to the platform so it faces the southwestern island and ride it over.
- Clear and climb. Destroy the Construct on the next floating platform, then use a Rocket to shoot straight up and glide to the island with a big tree root.
- Repeat once more. Another Construct, another Rocket, and a glide brings you to an island with two large pools.
- Ride the rail. On the upper part of that island, attach two Fans to a Wing, set it on the track and activate it. It carries you to the Jinodok island.
The pool island has a side puzzle too: build a dam with logs and the sluice gate to drain the water and reach two chests at the bottom. Worth the detour for completionists.
The Direct Route
If your stamina wheel is upgraded or you have plenty of Zonai batteries, you can skip most of the hopping. Glide from the tower toward the shrine island and climb, or build a simple flying device and fly up to it from below.

Jinodok Shrine Walkthrough: The Crystal Puzzle
Walk up to the sealed shrine and touch it to start The South Hyrule Sky Crystal. A beam of light shoots off toward the crystal you need to bring back.
- Follow the beam. It points northwest to a crystal sitting on a nearby island, but there is a gap between you and it.
- Find the switch. Northwest of the shrine is a Zonai device that controls a small arched island in the middle of the gap.
- Rotate it toward the crystal. Grab the switch with Ultrahand and turn it until the middle island’s walkway lines up with the crystal’s island.
- Grab the crystal. Cross over, pick the crystal up with Ultrahand, and bring it back to the switch.
- Rotate it toward the shrine. Turn the switch again so the walkway now lines up with the shrine island.
- Deliver it. Carry the crystal across and set it on the pedestal by the shrine. Jinodok opens.
Hot Take: stop counting rotations. Some guides give exact turn sequences, but those only work if the structure is facing the same way it was for them. Spin it, watch the walkway, and stop when the path is straight. You’d be surprised how many people get this wrong by staring at the switch instead of the bridge.

Common Mistakes
- Crossing before it lines up: the walkway has to meet the island edge cleanly. A half aligned bridge is a fall waiting to happen.
- Dropping the crystal: carry it slowly and keep it over solid ground. If it falls, it respawns, but you lose the trip.
- Forgetting the second rotation: the bridge only points one way at a time, so you always rotate twice.
Inside Jinodok Shrine
Rauru’s Blessing means there is no trial inside. Walk in, open the chest for a Diamond, then head to the altar at the end for your Light of Blessing.
- Diamond: sells for a lot of rupees and is used in armor upgrades.
- Light of Blessing: four of them buy a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel at any Goddess Statue.
- Travel Gate: the shrine becomes a fast travel point in the sky, which is handy for future glides over Central Hyrule.

The Math: one switch, two rotations, one crystal. For a full Light of Blessing plus a Diamond, few sky shrines give a better effort to reward ratio.
