Tears of the Kingdom spends dozens of hours teaching you to smash, glide and build your way through problems. Then Sinatanika Shrine asks you to tiptoe. Combat Training: Sneakstrike is a short stealth lesson with one Construct, a ring of low walls and a very simple rule: only a hit from behind counts.

So here’s the deal: this guide covers where the shrine is in the Akkala Highlands, how to beat both rounds without resets, and what’s in the chest.

Sinatanika Shrine Location

  • Trial: Combat Training: Sneakstrike
  • Region: Akkala Highlands (surface), at the western edge of the East Akkala Plains
  • Coordinates: about 3848, 2295, 0047 (guides differ by a few units)
  • Nearest tower: Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower, just to the southwest
  • Unlock: nothing special, just walk in

Your easiest route is to launch from the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower and glide northeast. The shrine sits out in the open on flat ground below the cliffs, so its glow is easy to spot once you’re close. On the map it looks tucked into the mountains; in person it’s right on the plain.

How Sneakstrikes Work

A Sneakstrike is a critical hit on an enemy that hasn’t noticed you. Crouch by clicking the left stick, creep up behind a target, and when the prompt appears, press the attack button. Sneakstrikes deal huge damage, which is why they are so good against camps out in the world.

Inside this shrine, every other attack does nothing. If the Construct spots you, or you hit it any other way, you get sent back to the start of the room. Nothing is lost, you just try again.

Combat Training shrines strip everything back to one skill. Here, that skill is patience.

Sinatanika Shrine Walkthrough

Round 1: The Stationary Construct

  1. Grab a weapon from the rack if you don’t have one. Read the opening message, then crouch.
  2. Go around the right side of the room, staying crouched.
  3. The Construct stands still but turns its head left and right. Its eye glow shows where it’s looking.
  4. Wait until it looks away, then slip past the first gap in the low wall.
  5. Do the same at the second gap.
  6. Circle to the back so you’re directly behind it.
  7. Creep in slowly. When the prompt appears, attack for the Sneakstrike.

Heads up: the Construct can hear you. Pushing the stick all the way forward makes noise even while crouched. Nudge it gently.

Round 2: The Patrolling Construct

Here’s where it gets interesting. After the first Sneakstrike, the shrine resets you to the start and the Construct starts walking a patrol around the walled area.

  1. Crouch again and go around the left side this time.
  2. Cross the first gap while the Construct faces away.
  3. Stop at the second gap and wait for it to walk past your position.
  4. Slip through behind it and follow its route at a slow crouch.
  5. When the prompt appears, Sneakstrike.

The trick in round two is rhythm, not speed. Pick one safe spot behind a wall, watch one full loop of its patrol, then move when it turns its back. I’m not gonna lie, rushing is the only way this goes wrong.

Rewards

  • Chest: a Sneaky Elixir. (Sinatanika’s Depths counterpart is the Akinatanis Lightroot.) Open it on your way out after the trial. It boosts stealth for a while, which is a little cheeky after you just did it the hard way.
  • Light of Blessing: trade four at a Goddess Statue for a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel.
  • Travel point: a warp in the Akkala Highlands.
  • The skill: a proper Sneakstrike, which carries you through every monster camp in the game.

Pro Tips

  • Stay crouched: standing up near the Construct gets you spotted fast.
  • Nudge the stick: slow and quiet beats fast and loud.
  • Watch the eye: only cross gaps when it points elsewhere.
  • Gear is optional: stealth armor or a stealth elixir makes you quieter, but you don’t need them here.
  • Brew your own: stealth elixirs come from Sunset Fireflies plus a monster part. Our cooking and elixir guide walks through it, and the recipe list has the rest.

Lore Deep Dive: Combat Training shrines are the game’s tutorials in disguise. Each one isolates a single combat skill (perfect guards, flurry rushes, sneakstrikes) and lets you practice it against a Zonai Construct with nothing else going on. The Constructs you fight here are the same Zonai machines you’ll meet all over the sky islands and the Depths.

Why do I keep getting reset?

The Construct saw or heard you, or you attacked without a Sneakstrike. Move slower, wait at the gaps and only go when it faces away.
