Tingle’s set is back in Tears of the Kingdom, and this time you don’t need any DLC to wear it. The green hood, shirt and tights each sit in a different cave tied to Misko’s old treasure stories, and every piece comes with the same in-game line about a man who claimed to be the reincarnation of a fairy. Kooloo-Limpah, indeed.

Honestly? It’s one of the funniest outfits in the game: most characters recoil when you walk up to them in it. Let’s walk through all three caves together.

Tingle’s set pieces and where to find them.
  • Set bonus: Night Speed Up with all three pieces on.
  • Upgrades: none. Great Fairies cannot improve it.
  • Dye: not possible.
  • Quests: optional. You can grab every piece without starting the manuscript quests.

Tingle’s Tights: Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave

If you’re just starting out, this is the easiest piece. The cave is on the northeast side of Cape Cales in East Necluda, right at the base of the cliff over the water.

  1. Reach the cliff. Glide, swim or sail there.
  2. Whistle at the door. Yes, really. The sealed door opens when you whistle in front of it.
  3. Board the ship. A big ship sits inside. You cannot climb its curved sides, so use the wooden platform at the front to reach the deck.
  4. Clear the Stal enemies on board, then check behind the stack of boxes and barrels at the back of the ship. The chest holds Tingle’s Tights.

(Before you leave, there is a small side cave near the front of the ship with a Bubbulfrog inside.)

Tingle’s Shirt: The Dueling Peaks Caves

Take your time with this one. The shirt needs two caves, one on each Dueling Peak, and a clue you have to carry from one to the other.

  1. Start in Dueling Peaks North Cave, on the face of the north mountain between the two peaks. Deal with the Horriblins inside.
  2. Read the ceiling. In the second chamber, a triangle of circles is carved overhead, with some circles filled in. Take a picture with the Camera so you don’t have to memorize it.
  3. Head to Dueling Peaks South Cave, higher up on the opposite mountain face.
  4. Watch for the Like Like on the wall right inside the entrance, then climb to the next room (smash the rocks on the right first for a Bubbulfrog).
  5. Solve the switches. The floor has switches in the same triangle layout. Put rocks on the ones that match the filled circles. A door opens and the chest inside holds Tingle’s Shirt.

In Dueling Peaks South Cave, place rocks on the switches that match the ceiling clue.

Tingle’s Hood: Statue of the Eighth Heroine

Okay but, this part is so good. The hood is hidden inside a giant statue in the Gerudo Highlands, just northwest of the Gerudo Summit, and opening it takes a bit of sunlight.

  1. Get there. Warp to Otutsum Shrine and head north toward Hemaar’s Descent. No shrine yet? Launch from the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower and glide northwest past the Gerudo Summit.
  2. Check the time. You need sunlight. If it is night, build a campfire and wait until noon. Pack cold resistance, too: the Highlands are freezing.
  3. Grab the mirrors. From the statue’s edge, look for a small ledge just to the north with a chest holding three Zonai Mirrors.
  4. Light the panel. Set down a mirror and reflect sunlight onto the yellow panel on the statue’s chest until it turns green. A secret cave opens.
  5. Clear the monsters inside, then blow away the sand pile at the altar with the nearby Zonai Fan or a fused Korok Frond. The chest holds Tingle’s Hood.

Don’t stress if you miss it the first time: another sand pile east of the altar hides a crawlspace with a Bubbulfrog.

Is Tingle’s Set Worth Wearing?

Here’s the chill version: no, not for combat. Each piece has only 2 defense and none can be upgraded. But Night Speed Up is actually handy for night runs across Hyrule Field, and the outfit is a collector’s dream for anyone who remembers Tingle from older Zelda games. Trust me on this, the reactions from NPCs alone are worth it.

It also makes a nice excuse to visit three corners of the map you might otherwise skip: a pirate ship cave, a twin-peak puzzle and a frozen giant statue.

Tingle Armor Set FAQ

How do you get Tingle’s set in Tears of the Kingdom?

Find the hood in the Statue of the Eighth Heroine Cave, the shirt in Dueling Peaks South Cave and the tights in Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave. No DLC needed.

What does the Tingle set bonus do?

Night Speed Up: you move faster at night while wearing all three pieces.

Can you upgrade Tingle’s armor?

No. It stays at 2 defense per piece and cannot be dyed either.

How do you open the Statue of the Eighth Heroine?

Use a Zonai Mirror from the chest on the nearby ledge to reflect sunlight onto the yellow panel on the statue’s chest. It only works while the sun is out.

You’ve got this: pin all three caves on the Tears of the Kingdom interactive map, keep Ultrahand ready for the switch puzzle, and cook some warming dishes from the recipe guide before you head into the Gerudo Highlands. If you’re collecting retro outfits, the Archaic set is next on the list.
