Some shrines hide their puzzle inside. Mayam Shrine puts it outside, in the open sky. You’ll find a dark, sealed shrine on a cross-shaped island with a green beam pointing away from it, and somewhere below that beam a Flux Construct is carrying the crystal you need.

The good news: this is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine, so once the crystal is home, the reward is waiting right inside. There’s no wrong way to approach this, and below you’ll find both the sneaky route and the fight.

Mayam Shrine quick facts.

To get there, activate the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower, launch, and glide south until you spot the cross-shaped island in the northern part of the North Hyrule Sky Archipelago. The shrine entrance is on its western edge.

Checklist: touch the shrine and examine it as soon as you land. That starts The North Hyrule Sky Crystal and gives you a fast travel point, so a failed flight later just means warping back.

Step 1: Find the Crystal

Walk to the southernmost point of the archipelago and look down to the south. On the island below, a Flux Construct I is wandering around with the green crystal fixed to its back. That’s your target.

  • The Construct: a Flux Construct I, the weakest of the three Flux Construct types, but it still hits hard if you’re early in the game.
  • The Vehicle: on the northern side of that same island there’s a platform with rockets on and around it. That’s your ride home.
  • The Plan: get the crystal off the Construct, attach it to the platform, and rocket your way back up.

Step 2: Take the Crystal

Option A: Steal It

You don’t have to beat the Flux Construct. The crystal is attached to it like any other object, so you can grab it with Ultrahand and pull it free. Do it, then carry it away to the platform and keep the Construct at a distance while you work.

Option B: Beat the Flux Construct I

Prefer a clean island? The fight is a good warm up for the bigger Flux Constructs later.

  • Find the weak point: one cube is marked with green symbols. That’s the core, and it moves to a new spot every time the Construct changes shape.
  • Knock it loose: grab that cube with Ultrahand and pull it out. The Construct collapses and you get a window to attack.
  • Platform form: when it turns into a flying platform, run underneath it to find the marked cube.
  • Repeat: keep pulling the marked cube until it falls apart for good. Keese Eye arrows help, since they home in on the Construct.

Take Your Time: nothing here is on a timer. If the fight goes badly, run to the far side of the island, heal, and come back.

Step 3: Fly the Crystal Home

This is the part people overthink. The rocket platform does most of the work if you place things in the right order.

  • Attach the crystal: carry it to the platform on the north side of the island and stick it on with Ultrahand. A loose crystal will slide off mid flight.
  • Loose rockets: set the spare rockets on the platform without attaching them, so you can place them one at a time.
  • First burn: stand on the platform and hit the rocket that points up. Ride it as high as it goes.
  • Second burn: while you’re up there, attach the next rocket at an angle toward the shrine island and fire it.
  • Final push: one more rocket aimed at the shrine should carry you over the island.

Once you’re above the shrine island, detach the crystal and drop it onto solid ground, then carry it to the shrine entrance and set it in place. The shrine opens right away.

Short on rockets? Spare rockets from your inventory work too, and a few extra make the climb far less stressful.

Inside Mayam Shrine: Rewards

Because Mayam is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine, there’s no puzzle inside. Open the chest for a Magic Rod, then interact with the green gate at the end to finish the shrine.

  • Light of Blessing: one more toward a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel at a Goddess Statue.
  • Magic Rod: a rod that fires magic projectiles, handy against enemies you’d rather not melee.
  • Fast travel: a permanent warp point in the northern sky, useful for later sky island trips.

Lore Connection: Rauru’s Blessing shrines are the game’s way of rewarding the trip itself. Getting the crystal home is the trial, and the shrine simply hands over the blessing at the end.

One more thing before you move on: if you’re still sorting out your route through Hyrule, our Tears of the Kingdom hub collects every guide in one place, and the TOTK Switch 2 Edition review covers how the sky islands run on the new hardware.
