Think the tutorial island is just for learning Ultrahand? Think again! The Great Sky Island hides 19 Korok Seeds, and you can start banking them before you ever set foot in Hyrule.
This guide walks you through every location, how to solve the two Korok friend puzzles, and which seed you’ll have to come back for later. Grab your Ultrahand and let’s get hunting.
Great Sky Island Korok Seeds: What You’re Hunting For
Here’s the full breakdown before you start:
- Total on the island: 19 seeds from 17 spots. Two of those spots are Korok friend puzzles that pay out two seeds each.
- Total in the game: Tears of the Kingdom has 1,000 Korok Seeds.
- Why you want them: trade them to Hestu to expand your weapon, bow and shield slots. You pick which pouch grows.
- The late bloomer: the Korok in the Room of Awakening doesn’t show up until you’ve left the island. You’ll need to fast travel back for it.
(Pro tip: numbering differs between guides, so go by the landmarks and coordinates below, not the seed number alone.)
All 17 Great Sky Island Korok Locations
Coordinates are shown as X, Y, Z (height), the way your map displays them when you move the cursor. Where no coordinates are listed, the landmark is easy enough to spot on its own.

Spot a lone stone, an odd flower or a swirl of leaves? Poke at it. Koroks love hiding in plain sight.
Spots Worth a Closer Look
- Balloon behind the rocks (#2): you need Fuse for this one. Fuse a rock to a weapon, smash the cracked boulders, then look left for the floating balloon and shoot it.
- The snowy cube (#9): the snowy region drains your hearts, so cook Spicy Peppers first. Grab the small block with Ultrahand and rotate it until it completes the cube.
- The stump with a rock circle (#10): reach the top of the stump (Ascend is handy here), pick up the loose rock and drop it into the gap.
- The hollow tree (#14): the leaf pile needs fire. A Fire Fruit or a flame source does the trick, then lift the rock underneath.
Step by Step: Reuniting the Korok Friends

Two lonely Koroks on the island are separated from their buddies. Reunite each pair and you get two seeds per pair. Here’s how to do it.
Korok Friends #1: The Log Raft on the Rail
- Step 1: Kick off at the In-isa Shrine, then cross the river to the north. You’ll spot a Korok with a backpack sitting on a rock to the northwest.
- Step 2: Grab the nearby logs with Ultrahand and attach two of them side by side.
- Step 3: Pick up a hook, rotate it so the round end faces up, and attach it to the middle of the logs.
- Step 4: Attach the Korok to your platform, then hang the whole thing on the rail.
- Step 5: Ride it to the next island. Set the Korok down next to its friend under the tent and talk to them. Nailed it? Two seeds.
Korok Friends #2: The Fan Cart
- Step 1: Start at the In-isa Shrine and head southeast through Pondside Cave.
- Step 2: Cross the river, climb the hill and work your way through the Mining Cave.
- Step 3: On the island above, you’ll find a rail next to a Zonai Device Dispenser and a lone Korok looking for his friend.
- Step 4: Put a cart on the rail and attach a Fan to its back with Ultrahand.
- Step 5: Load the Korok into the cart, hop in, and hit the Fan to start it.
- Step 6: At the end of the line, set the Korok down by its friend for two more seeds.
(Pro tip: the Fan pushes in the direction it faces, so mount it on the back of the cart. Rolling the wrong way? Just rotate it with Ultrahand and try again.)
Pro Tips
- Pin as you go: place a map pin the moment you spot something suspicious. It saves you a lot of wandering.
- Lift everything: a lone rock on a treetop or a tiny island is never just a rock.
- Come back for #15: once you’re on the Surface, fast travel to the Room of Awakening and finish the set.
