Ever spot a weird glowing symbol on a cliff and think, ‘Okay, that definitely means something’? Honestly, you’re right. The Keeha Yoog Shrine is hiding in plain sight on the Gerudo cliffs, and it’s one of the friendliest shrine hunts in the whole game.

There’s no combat trial and no brain-melting puzzle inside. You just need one good shot, and you’ve got this.

Where to Find Keeha Yoog Shrine

This shrine sits in the Gerudo region, up in the highlands near Gerudo Summit. It isn’t visible as a normal shrine at first, because it’s sealed away until you wake it up. Take your time exploring up here… the scenery is gorgeous anyway.

  • The Vibe: A cozy little cliffside mystery. You’re hunting for a pedestal, not a monster.
  • Map Clue: Find the Gerudo Summit label on your map. The shrine sits roughly halfway between that label and the Cliffs of Ruvara label, on the side of a cliff.
  • What to Look For: A shrine-style pedestal with four bolts of lightning around it (top, bottom, left, and right).
  • Shrine Quest: This shrine belongs to the Cliffside Etchings quest, which makes the location much easier to pin down.
  • Shrine Name: Keeha Yoog’s Blessing, so expect a calm visit.

(Pro tip: Talk to Geggle at the Tabantha Bridge Stable during the day to start the quest. He looks straight at the cliff with the pedestal, which is basically a free hint. You don’t have to do this to find the shrine, but it takes out a lot of guesswork.)

Step-by-Step: Waking Up the Shrine

The whole trick is a single Shock Arrow. Here’s the full run, start to finish.

  • Step 1: Gather at least one Shock Arrow before you head out. You can buy them at shops, or make them by attaching an Electric Keese Wing to an arrow.
  • Step 2: Head to the Gerudo Summit area and scan the cliffs. Look for the pedestal with the four lightning bolts around it.
  • Step 3: Get into position. Use your Paraglider to get close, or stand on a ledge below and aim up at the pedestal.
  • Step 4: Aim at the center of the pedestal, the point in the middle of those lightning symbols. Don’t aim at the bolts themselves.
  • Step 5: Fire the Shock Arrow. If you’re shooting upward, aim a little higher than your target, since the arrow drops as it flies.
  • Step 6: Watch the shrine rise. Once your arrow hits the center, the shrine appears and you can walk right in.
  • Step 7: Step inside, grab the chest, and head for the exit to meet Keeha Yoog.

No Stress: Don’t stress if your first arrow misses. It happens to everybody, especially at a steep angle, and you can just try again. If you’re out of Shock Arrows, nip off to grab more and come back.

Rewards and Benefits

Once the shrine is open, it’s a quick and rewarding visit. There’s no trial standing between you and the goodies.

  • The Payoff: A Spirit Orb from Keeha Yoog at the end, which gets you closer to a new Heart Container or Stamina Vessel.
  • Treasure Chest: A Diamond, which is great for selling or for cooking up elemental gear upgrades later.
  • Fast Travel: Activate the pedestal by the shrine door, and you’ll have a handy travel point in a pretty remote part of the map.

Honestly, that Diamond alone makes the trip worth it. It’s a lovely piece of loot for a few minutes of effort.

Pro Tips

  • Dress for the Weather: The Gerudo highlands can get chilly, so bring cold-resistant gear or some spicy food. (Pro tip: Eat before you climb, not after you’re shivering.)
  • Bring Spares: Pack a few extra Shock Arrows. A steep upward shot can take a couple of tries, and that’s totally fine.
  • Use the Paraglider: Gliding in gets you closer to the pedestal and gives you a cleaner, flatter shot.
  • Compensate for Drop: Aim slightly above the center of the pedestal when you’re far below. Arrows arc, and gravity doesn’t care how good your aim is.
  • Set a Pin: Drop a map marker once you spot the pedestal. It’s a handy reminder if you need to leave for more arrows.
  • Slow the Shot: Use a bow-aiming slowdown, like jumping and drawing mid-air, if you want extra time to line up.

Why This Shrine Matters

Keeha Yoog is a perfect reminder of what makes Breath of the Wild so special. The game quietly drops clues into the world, like a symbol on a cliff, and rewards you for noticing them. Nobody hands you a marker… you just look around, put two and two together, and feel clever.

It’s also a great shrine for newer players. You get a Spirit Orb, a Diamond, and a new fast travel point without needing to fight or solve a tricky trial. It’s worth the effort, I promise.

So, did you spot the pedestal on your own, or did Geggle point you in the right direction? Share your favorite shrine-hunting moment in the comments, and let’s swap tips on the next hidden one.
