Hia Miu Shrine is not a puzzle room. It’s a boss fight wearing a shrine costume, and it will absolutely humble you if you walk in unprepared.
Good thing you’ve got me. I’m going to walk you from the Hebra snow all the way to the Spirit Orb. Trust.
Where to Find Hia Miu Shrine
This shrine is tucked into the far northwest corner of the Hebra Mountains. It’s the northwesternmost shrine on the whole map, so pack some patience.
- Region: Hebra, in the far northwest corner of the map.
- Shrine Type: Major Test of Strength. That means a Guardian Scout and zero cracked walls to hide behind.
- Enemy Gear: Guardian Spear++, Ancient Battle Axe++ and Guardian Sword++.
- Enemy Health: Around 3000 HP. That’s a lot of bar to chew through.
- Chest Contents: A sapphire waiting behind the boss.
Stop Doing This: Don’t show up in your starter weapons and a T-shirt. Bring real damage, spare food, and cold protection for the trek.
Step-by-Step: Getting There and Winning

The Play: Warp to To Quomo Shrine and follow this route. It’s the cleanest path I know.
- Step 1: Leave the To Quomo cave and watch for rolling snowballs. Yes, they will try to ruin your day.
- Step 2: Head east to the top of the slope.
- Step 3: Climb the wall to the north, then go north over the valley.
- Step 4: Work your way west along the northern edge of the Hebra Mountains. Ride the updrafts as you go (Pro tip: paraglide off them to save stamina and skip the slow climbing).
- Step 5: Enter the shrine and get ready. The Guardian Scout is waiting, and it’s not here to chat.
Now the fight. This room has magnetic metal blocks in the floor, and they are your best friends. Use Magnesis to pull them up as cover.
- Step 6: Handle the basic melee swings. The Scout swings an axe, halberd or sword straight ahead, so strafe around it and hit its side.
- Step 7: Dodge the eye blasts. They come in short volleys, and walking in any direction usually keeps you safe.
- Step 8: Counter the leap and spin charge. When it jumps backward and rushes at you, raise a metal block between you with Magnesis. It slams into the block and stuns for a few seconds, which is your window to unload.
- Step 9: Survive the low-health laser spin. It leaps away and sweeps huge, fast laser arcs. When the laser reaches full length, steam rises from the floor. Glide above the Scout and drop a plunging attack to stun it.
- Step 10: Finish it during the final charge. At critical health it stops moving and charges a devastating beam, then fires four lasers in a row. Keep running, then dive in and slash while it recharges. Raise a block for cover when you retreat.
Why This Slaps: Every phase has a clean counter. Learn the pattern and the fight stops being scary.
Rewards

Beat the Scout and the door behind it opens. Grab the chest for a sapphire.
Then talk to the monk, Hia Miu, at the altar to claim your Spirit Orb. GG, you just earned it.
Pro Tips
- Block Early: Raise a metal block as soon as the Scout leaps back. Waiting until the charge starts is how you eat damage (Pro tip: keep Magnesis ready before every phase).
- Hit and Reset: Don’t get greedy. Land a few strikes, then move before the next attack starts.
- Bring Good Weapons: With 3000 HP to chew through, weak gear turns this into a long, annoying slog. Bring strong weapons, ideally a few of them.
- Pack Food: Hearty meals and healing items let you survive one mistake. Maybe two if you’re me.
- Watch the Steam: When the floor steam rises during the laser spin, that’s your cue to glide. Miss it and you’re just taking laser to the face.
- Use Cover Often: Metal blocks are free defense. If you’re not using them, I’m begging you to start.
Why This Matters
Hia Miu Shrine is a great test of whether you’ve actually mastered Link’s toolkit. Magnesis, paraglider, dodging and smart positioning all matter here.
Spirit Orbs are how you grow stronger, and this one gives you a solid fight, a sapphire and bragging rights. This build hits different when you learn the fight instead of mashing attack.
Stop sleeping on Major Tests of Strength. They’re some of the best practice in the game.
