You beat Ranrok, the dust settled, and you woke up back in your dormitory. Your fifth year is not quite over. Two main quests are still waiting after The Final Repository: Weasley’s Watchful Eye and The House Cup, and the second one is the true finale of Hogwarts Legacy.

This guide covers what each quest asks, the level 34 wall that stops most players, and the calmest way to get there. Take it at your own pace, because the game is in no hurry.

What Unlocks After The Final Repository

Once you finish The Final Repository and watch the ending scenes, the game drops you back at Hogwarts with free roam restored. You also get a notice about the upcoming O.W.L. exams, which is the game’s way of saying the school year is wrapping up.

Weasley’s Watchful Eye

This one is short and sweet. Fast travel to the Transfiguration Classroom and talk to Professor Matilda Weasley in her office.

  • The talk: she brings up Professor Fig’s death, then reviews your year using your Field Guide.
  • The reveal: she turns out to know rather more about your extracurricular activities than you expected, which is a lovely little payoff if you did a lot of side content.
  • Rewards: none directly. Its job is to unlock The House Cup.

Lore Connection: Weasley, your Transfiguration professor and Deputy Headmistress, has been a quiet presence all year. This conversation treats you as a student first and a world saver second, which is exactly the tone the ending is going for.

The House Cup and the Level 34 Wall

The House Cup is the last main quest. It asks you to attend the end of year feast in the Great Hall. The catch: it only unlocks once you reach level 34.

Most players finish the main story somewhere around level 25, so there is a real gap to close. There’s no wrong way to approach this. Quests, Field Guide pages and unfinished Challenges are where the XP is, and you can mix and match.

Where to Find the XP

  • Side quests: the biggest single source. Many give generous XP and fun little stories.
  • Relationship quests: Sebastian, Natsai and Poppy each have a full questline worth finishing.
  • Field Guide pages: every page you collect gives XP, and they are everywhere in the castle and Hogsmeade.
  • Merlin Trials and Demiguise Statues: Merlin Trials feed XP through their Challenges, and Demiguise Moons upgrade your Alohomora so you can open every locked door.
  • Challenges: combat, exploration and collection challenges in your Field Guide pay out XP as you hit their milestones.
  • Bandit camps and dungeons: clearing them helps, and the loot is a bonus.

Easily missable, so heads up: you do not need to finish absolutely everything. The level is the actual trigger, so stop grinding the moment you hit 34 if you just want the ending. Completionists, you’ll want to keep going anyway.

Step by Step: Finishing Your School Year

  1. Finish The Final Repository and watch the ending scenes.
  2. Check your quest log for Weasley’s Watchful Eye.
  3. Talk to Professor Weasley in the Transfiguration Classroom.
  4. Level up to 34 with side quests, relationship quests, Field Guide pages and challenges.
  5. Fast travel to the Great Hall and start The House Cup.
  6. Attend the feast and enjoy the final cutscene.

After the ceremony you can still free roam, so finishing The House Cup does not lock you out of anything. If you are aiming for every trophy, our Hogwarts Legacy hub collects the guides you need, and the Hogwarts Legacy interactive map makes the Field Guide hunt much faster.

Completionist Checklist

Here’s your checklist if you want to see everything before the feast:

  • Checklist: all side quests, including the relationship questlines.
  • Checklist: every Field Guide page.
  • Checklist: all Merlin Trials and Demiguise Statues.
  • Checklist: Astronomy Tables, Balloon Sets and Collection Chests.
  • Bonus quest: the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest, once PlayStation only, came to every platform with the June 2024 update, so everyone has it to tick off.

There is no New Game Plus, so everything happens in your current save. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
