Three Acecraft boss fights in progress, including Queen Lovira with her purple heart projectiles and two Wave 10 of 10 bosses over floating islands

So here’s the deal: every Acecraft boss is a puzzle wearing a health bar. From Tick Tock’s spike spreads in stage 1-1 to the Nightmare Legion’s lords deep in the story, bosses run on readable attack patterns, which means anyone willing to watch before shooting can beat them. Here’s how boss fights work, how to handle all of Chapter 1, and the framework that carries you through the rest.

How Boss Fights Work

  • Stacked health bars: a boss’s health shows as a multiplier (Lord Spade’s is 20 bars, for example), so expect a longer fight than any wave.
  • Phases: bosses change their attack patterns as they lose health, so the opening pattern is rarely the last one you’ll see.
  • Pink attacks: nearly every boss mixes pink projectiles into its patterns. Those are the ones you absorb and fire back with your Stunt.
  • Mid-bosses: some bosses come back as mini-bosses in later stages with fewer health bars, like Tick Tock showing up again on wave 8 of stage 1-4.

Lore Deep Dive: some of the biggest chapter-ending villains are the N.I.G.H.T lords. Rockin’ Rick, the horse-obsessed outlaw, closes out Chapter 11 (Goldlands), and Thamus, Lord of Repose, waits at the end of Chapter 12.

Chapter 1 Bosses, Pattern by Pattern

Wonderland is where you learn to fight bosses, and every lesson here carries forward. Here’s the whole lineup:

Tick Tock

Your first boss fires three spreads of spikes: first 3, then 4, then 5. The first and last spreads can be absorbed, so stay calm, soak those up and fire them back. It’s the perfect place to make the Stunt a habit.

Lord Diamond

The Pokers’ worried Minister of Finance throws spears, and some of them are pink, so absorb those. When he winds up, he’s about to charge forward: slide out of his lane and punish him on the way back.

Sheriff Hawkeye

Hawkeye inhales eggs, then opens his chest and releases three black and three yellow Chicklings that spit eggs at you. Some of those eggs are absorbable, both his and the Chicklings’, so this fight rewards greedy Stunt use. Clear the Chicklings quickly before they box you in.

Lord Spade

Lord Diamond’s scheming cousin throws blades (some pink), then summons two 3 of Spades cards beside him before charging forward and flying back up, laughing the whole way. Deal with the cards first, then dodge the charge.

Queen Lovira

The bossy queen of the cards closes out Chapter 1. She slams her arms down and swipes across the screen, but the swipes leave gaps you can slip through, so look for the opening instead of panicking. Her angry-face volley mixes in pink projectiles you can turn against her.

Here’s Where It Gets Wild: in Chapter 2 you’ll meet Lady Tea Party, who keeps three teacups spinning around her that block your shots while she spits hot tea. Time your damage for the gaps in the cups instead of shooting into them.

The Framework That Beats Any Boss

  1. Watch first, shoot second. Spend your first attempt reading the pattern and its phases. A death that teaches you the next attack isn’t wasted.
  2. Set your lineup for the fight. A mob-clearer in slot 1 for the waves before the boss, your boss killers in slots 2 and 3, and a support pilot like Elsa or Charlie if you have one. Check the tier list for the best fits.
  3. Bring boss attachments. Tesla Cannon’s slow orb pierces everything and hits harder the longer it sits inside a boss, Air Strike 1 lasers single targets, and an evolved Punch Launcher shreds bosses if you’re brave enough to fly close. Our Attachments guide has the full Boss Melt build.
  4. Save the big stuff. Hold your Ultimate, heavy weapon and support pilot skills for the boss, not the waves before it.
  5. Absorb pink, every time. Bosses throw pink in readable bursts, and absorbing several at once means a longer stun and more damage. Here’s how to nail the timing.
  6. Check buffs before boss modes. Damage buffs in Nemeses’ Return can turn an impossible fight into a routine one.

When a Boss Walls You

Look, I get it: some bosses just won’t go down. The fix usually lives outside the arena:

  • Elite Stages: they pay out Power Cubes, Diamonds, Gold, Equipment and EXP Soda, exactly what you need to get stronger.
  • Modify: check your Base Tune-Up and Super Tech upgrades. Our Modify guide shows where your Gold goes furthest.
  • Wingmen: make sure your wingmen match your pilots’ elements before you queue up.
  • Co-op: bring a friend. A second pilot makes a stubborn boss a lot more manageable (see our Co-Pilot mode guide).

The Wider Boss Roster

Chapter 1 is just the start. Acecraft has over 100 bosses, from Coolio Coldbrew, Pudding Godmother and King Wonka to Lolly Quickdraw, Miss Cadence, Holy Specter and Madam Ironheart. Your in-game Monsters archive tracks every one you’ve beaten, chapter by chapter. Beyond the story, Element Trial has its own boss rush across the Cyclone, Solaris, Nimbus and Sandstorm trials, plus The Primal.

Tick Tock, in stage 1-1. It fires three spreads of spikes, and the first and last spreads can be absorbed with your Stunt.
