Suariwak Shrine is one of those Tears of the Kingdom shrines you can stare at on the map for ages without finding the door. That’s because the door belongs to the Yiga Clan. The shrine sits in the back room of the Yiga Blademaster Station in the Gerudo Highlands, and the Blademaster only lets you through once you pass a very silly entrance exam.

Here’s the chill version: it is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine, so there is no puzzle inside. All the work is in the side adventure, The Yiga Clan Exam. Let’s walk through this together, from the disguise to the last banana.

Before You Go: Get the Full Yiga Set

Honestly? This is the part that trips most people up. The Blademaster will not even start the exam unless you are wearing all three Yiga pieces, and each piece lives in a different Yiga hideout.

  • Yiga Armor: earned at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, where Yiga members are causing trouble for the researchers.
  • Yiga Mask: found at the Yiga outpost in the Great Plateau area near Mount Hylia.
  • Yiga Tights: found at the Yiga Clan Maritta Branch, a cave hideout in the north near Mount Drena and the Forgotten Temple.

Each hideout comes with a short fight against Yiga members, so pack a few meals. Once the outfit is complete, Yiga members stop attacking you on sight, which feels amazing after how many ambushes they pulled earlier.

No Stress: if you are missing a piece, the shrine isn’t going anywhere. Grab the gear, then come back.

How to Reach the Yiga Blademaster Station

Warp to the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower and glide north toward the waterfall. The station is built into the cliffs along the Gerudo Canyon ridges, reached by a footbridge, with its door tucked into the rock. Wearing the full Yiga set, walk up and go inside. Nobody stops you.

Talk to the Yiga Blademaster in the main room. He treats you as a recruit and starts The Yiga Clan Exam.

The Yiga Clan Exam Walkthrough

Your task is simple: place a Mighty Banana as an offering at five frog statues spread around the area. The Blademaster hands you five Mighty Bananas, one per statue, so you do not have to farm any. Each statue sits on a small altar, usually lit by torches, which helps a lot when you are scanning cliffs.

To make an offering, stand at the altar, open your inventory, hold the bananas as if you were going to drop them for cooking, then drop one on the altar.

  1. Under the bridge: the closest statue sits right below the bridge you crossed to reach the station.
  2. Southwest platforms: follow the wooden platforms built along the Gerudo Canyon ridges to the southwest.
  3. Mount Nabooru Cave: to the east, beside a waterfall at the entrance to Mount Nabooru Cave. Glide over to its eastern side and follow the wooden walkways.
  4. Gerudo Canyon Mine: to the west, in a crevice on the upper levels of the mine. It is reached through the canyon north of the East Gerudo Ruins, near Turakamik Shrine.
  5. The last statue: southeast of the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower. Warp back to the tower and check the area below it.

After the fifth offering, warp back to the tower, glide over to the station and talk to the Blademaster again. He congratulates you and opens the door behind him.

The Vibe: you are dressed as a villain, delivering bananas to frog idols, for a clan that was trying to kill you a few hours ago. Okay but, this part is so good.

Inside the Hideout: Chests and the Shrine

Don’t rush straight into the shrine. The rooms behind the Blademaster’s door hold two chests worth opening first.

  • Ruby: worth selling or saving for armor upgrades.
  • Eightfold Longblade: a solid Sheikah style weapon with a good fuse base.
  • Big Battery: inside Suariwak Shrine itself, in a stone chest along the path. This one is a great pickup for anyone who loves building Zonai contraptions. (Suariwak’s Depths counterpart is the Kawiraus Lightroot.)

Then walk up to the altar and claim your Light of Blessing. Activating the shrine also unlocks it as a fast travel point, which is handy for future trips to the canyon.

What to Do with Your Light of Blessing

Trade four Lights of Blessing at a Goddess Statue for either a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel. If you’re just starting out, our guide to unlocking abilities, maps and upgrades in Tears of the Kingdom covers how the whole upgrade loop fits together.

That Eightfold Longblade also pairs nicely with a strong monster horn. If fusing is still a mystery, read our Fuse beginner’s guide before you go back out. And for a full list of every region, shrine and quest we cover, head to the Tears of the Kingdom guide hub.

The quest works the same on the current version, 1.4.3, and in the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Our Zelda Switch 2 update guide has the details if you play on the new console.

Suariwak Shrine FAQ

How do I get into Suariwak Shrine?

Wear the full Yiga set, enter the Yiga Blademaster Station in the Gerudo Highlands and complete The Yiga Clan Exam. The Blademaster then opens the door to the shrine.

Where is Suariwak Shrine?

In the back room of the Yiga Blademaster Station on the Gerudo Canyon ridges, north of the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower.

Do I need to bring my own Mighty Bananas?

No. The Blademaster gives you five, one for each frog statue. Spares are still useful if you drop one by accident.

What is inside Suariwak Shrine?

No puzzle. It is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine with a Big Battery chest and the Light of Blessing at the end.

The Payoff: a free Light of Blessing, a Big Battery, a Ruby and a nice blade, all for a banana delivery run. It’s worth the effort, I promise. Suit up in the Yiga gear and enjoy being the least suspicious recruit the clan has ever had.
