So here’s the deal: Jogou Shrine has no puzzle at all. It’s a Rauru’s Blessing shrine, which means the Light of Blessing is just sitting there waiting. The catch is that it’s hidden in a flooded cave under Lanayru Road, and the shrine itself is sealed behind rock in the middle of a big cavern.

When I first found this, my sensor was pinging and I couldn’t work out why. The shrine was right under my feet. Here’s how to get down there, and the two ways to reach the shrine once you’re inside.

Jogou Shrine quick facts.

The Setup: you can’t reach the shrine from the surface. You have to go through Lanayru Road East Cave, whose mouth sits at the waterline under the old East Gate ruins. Guides list slightly different coordinates for the entrance, but they all land within a few units of each other.

How to Reach the Cave

  1. Head for the Lanayru Road East Gate. Follow Lanayru Road east toward the gate ruins.
  2. Drop to the water. Jump or glide down from the road into the water below the gate.
  3. Find the cave mouth. It opens right at water level under the ruins. Swim in.

A Moblin sometimes wanders the road up top. You can fight it or ignore it; the cave is the goal.

Through the Cave

  1. Swim to shore. Inside, a rock spitting Rock Like waits on the bank and lobs boulders at you. Take it out or stay out of its line of sight.
  2. Push to the dead end. Follow the cave until the path ends at a drop. Jump down.
  3. Look right. You’ll see the green swirl of shrine light glowing from inside a rock formation in the middle of a big water filled cavern.

But here’s where it gets interesting: you can see the shrine, but it’s walled in. You have two ways in.

Option 1: Blow Open the Rock Wall

Follow the bend around the central island and look for the brown, cracked rocks. Brown rock means breakable. Shoot it with a Bomb Arrow (fuse a Bomb Flower to an arrow) and the wall crumbles, opening the way. Swim across to the shrine.

Option 2: Climb Into the Hole

The rock around the shrine is slippery and wet, so normal climbing is a pain. With a Froggy armor set or a Sticky Elixir you can climb up and drop in through the opening instead. Brew a Sticky Elixir by cooking a Sticky Frog or Sticky Lizard with a monster part; more critters means a longer effect.

Here’s Where It Gets Wild: the bomb route is faster and needs no special gear. If you have Bomb Flowers, use them. Save the elixir for the next rainy cliff.

Inside the Shrine

There’s no trial. Open the chest in the middle of the room for a Hearty Elixir, which heals you and adds temporary extra hearts. Then walk to the green gate and claim your Light of Blessing. The shrine also becomes a fast travel point, so you never have to swim through that cave again.

Why Blessing Shrines Are Worth Chasing

Look, I get it. A shrine without a puzzle can feel like a skip. But every Light of Blessing counts the same, and four of them buy you a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel. Blessing shrines like Jogou are often the fastest Lights in the game once you know the route, and the caves around them tend to hide extra loot and materials. If you’re building toward more stamina for long glides, this is an easy one to bank.

Pro Tips

  • Bring Bomb Flowers: they’re the key to Option 1 and handy against the Rock Like too.
  • Pack Arrows: Octoroks and Keese like caves, and a few arrows clear them from a distance.
  • Use the Glow: if you lose your bearings in the cavern, look for the green shrine light. It’s your landmark.
  • Watch the Water: swimming drains stamina. Rest on rocks between stretches.
  • Remember Ascend: if you get stuck under a ledge in the cave, Ascend can pop you up through the rock. Our Ascend guide explains how it works.

Lore Deep Dive: Rauru’s Blessing shrines are the ones where the journey is the trial. The devs hid this one in plain sight under a road you’ve probably ridden down a dozen times. The worldbuilding here is next level. Fusing that Bomb Flower is also a nice reminder of how flexible Fuse is.
