Duskbloods delayed

The Duskbloods will not make it out in 2026. FromSoftware has confirmed that The Duskbloods is delayed to 2027, pushing its Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive back so the team can make final adjustments to the game’s rules and balance.

Why The Duskbloods was delayed

FromSoftware says development has reached its final adjustment stage. According to the studio, the August 2026 network test showed strong interest in the game’s combat, strategic depth and player freedom, and it now wants more time to fine-tune the rules and balancing before launch.

The studio apologized to fans who have been waiting and thanked them for their patience. It did not give a specific month or quarter, so the new release window is simply 2027 for now.

A rocky network test

The August network test did not go smoothly. The first session ran into server trouble when more players tried to get in than the servers could handle, leaving many stuck on the title screen, and later sessions were hit by performance issues. Not every tester was sold on the PvP side of the game either, which makes the focus on rules and balance easy to understand.

What is The Duskbloods?

The Duskbloods is a multiplayer action RPG directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, first announced during the Nintendo Direct in April 2025. Up to eight players take on the role of Bloodsworn, vampire-like characters who each come with their own weapons, including firearms, in a dark Gothic world that mixes PvP and PvE.

It is also a rare Nintendo exclusive from FromSoftware, the studio’s first in more than 20 years, which is a big part of why Switch 2 owners have been watching it so closely.

How FromSoftware’s other games are doing on Steam

The Duskbloods is not coming to PC, so it will not show up in our player counts. FromSoftware’s other games are still going strong there, though. Elden Ring had 20,609 players at the time of writing, and Elden Ring Nightreign, the studio’s last multiplayer-focused game, peaked at 313,593 players on Steam.

Here are the all-time Steam peaks for FromSoftware’s biggest recent games, from our tracker:
