Completionists, you’ll want to know: there are 20 Landing Platforms hidden across the Highlands, and none of them show up as map markers. Zoom the world map all the way out, though, and each region shows how many you’ve landed on. They’re easy to sail right past when you’re rushing between quests.
Slow down and enjoy the view from your broom, though, and they might be the most relaxing collectible in the game. There’s no wrong way to approach this, so take it at your own pace.
What Landing Platforms Are
Landing Platforms are round, ornate pads perched on high and remote spots: towers, cliff edges, rocky outcrops and spires. You complete one by flying in, landing in the center and dismounting.
- Checklist: 20 platforms across 11 regions of the Highlands.
- No markers: you have to spot them from the air. Daylight makes it much easier.
- Requirement: a broom. After the Flying Class quest, you can buy one at Spintwitches in Hogsmeade.
- Where they hide: high ground, almost always. Circle hilltops, towers and sea stacks.
- Not here: Hogsmeade village, the Hogwarts grounds, the Forbidden Forest and South Sea Bog have none.

Landing Platform Count by Region
Here’s your checklist. Tick each region off as you go, and compare against your in game Challenges menu if your tally looks off.
| Region | Platforms | Your progress |
|---|---|---|
| North Ford Bog | 1 | 0 of 1 |
| Hogsmeade Valley | 2 | 0 of 2 |
| North Hogwarts Region | 2 | 0 of 2 |
| South Hogwarts Region | 1 | 0 of 1 |
| Hogwarts Valley | 3 | 0 of 3 |
| Feldcroft Region | 4 | 0 of 4 |
| Poidsear Coast | 1 | 0 of 1 |
| Marunweem Lake | 2 | 0 of 2 |
| Manor Cape | 2 | 0 of 2 |
| Cragcroftshire | 1 | 0 of 1 |
| Clagmar Coast | 1 | 0 of 1 |
Feldcroft is the big one with four, so save a sunny afternoon for it.
How to Find and Complete Them
Step 1: Get a broom. Finish Flying Class, then pick up a broom at Spintwitches.
Step 2: Work region by region. Floo to the flame nearest each region’s edge, then fly a slow lap at medium height. The platforms stand out once you know the shape.
Step 3: Land in the middle. Touch down in the center and dismount. The challenge counter updates when it counts.
Step 4: Check your progress. Open the Challenges menu, go to Exploration and then Landing Platforms to see your total.
A Few Easy Ones to Start With
- North Ford Bog: from the Pitt-Upon-Ford Floo Flame, fly straight south. The platform sits on top of a wooden tower.
- Poidsear Coast: west of the Marunweem Ruins Floo Flame, on the edge of a rocky outcrop.
- Cragcroftshire: south of Cragcroft, on a spire in the water between two strips of land.
Our Hogwarts Legacy interactive map is a great way to plan flight paths between Floo Flames.

Rewards for Landing Platforms
Landing Platforms are part of the Exploration Challenges in your Field Guide. As you hit milestones in the set, you unlock pieces of Quidditch Captain gear, four in total once you’ve landed on all 20.
- How to claim: Challenges menu, Exploration, Landing Platforms, then select the reward icons.
- Completionist bonus: these rewards count toward a full Collection, which you need for the Collector’s Edition trophy and achievement.
- The theme: Quidditch isn’t playable at school, so this gear is one of the few nods to it in the game.
Lore Connection: this random detail actually connects to the school story. Quidditch is cancelled for your year, so these platforms and their Quidditch Captain rewards are the closest you’ll get to the pitch.
Common Problems (and Easy Fixes)
- Landed but nothing happened: you probably touched down off center or stayed on your broom. Hop back on, hover over the middle and dismount there.
- Can’t find the last one: zoom the world map out to see which region is short, then cast Revelio while flying there. Nearby platforms light up in blue. A landed platform spins and lights flames around its edge, so you’ll know it counted.
- Arrived on foot: walking or climbing onto a platform doesn’t count. Take off and land properly.
- Flying at night: the pads blend into dark rock. Switch to daytime first.
One more thing before you move on: every platform you land on stays done for good, so there’s no rush to clear them all in one sitting.
Tips for Platform Hunters
- Fly by day: platforms are much easier to spot in daylight. If it’s dark, change the time of day from your map.
- Look for high ground: towers, rooftops, sea stacks and cliff edges. If an area looks empty, climb higher and circle again.
- Pair it with balloons: Balloon Sets are another flying challenge, and they’re often near platforms. Two challenges, one trip.
- Count by region: if you end at 19 of 20, zoom the world map out, compare each region’s count against the table and recheck the region that’s short.
- Upgrade your broom: faster brooms make the long coastal flights in the south much quicker.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Plenty of players are still flying laps over the Highlands, and you can check the live Hogwarts Legacy player count to see how many.
